Located in the heart of the stunning Pays de Caux countryside, in Ocqueville, the thatched cottage that now houses The Goldfinch Normandy was born from a shared dream: to create a welcoming place where Norman authenticity meets the convivial atmosphere and warmth of an Irish home.
A few years ago, the owners settled here, captivated by the region's understated charm - its nearby cliffs, tranquil beaches, and generous garden. They undertook the restoration of this building, preserving its historical features: beams, stonework, and spacious rooms.
From the moment you enter, you sense this vision: refined collections from travels to Ireland, America, and Asia are displayed in every room of the house, offering a visual journey while remaining in the comfort of home. The motto? "A little piece of Ireland in Normandy". Every morning, the lounge comes alive: a Franco-Irish breakfast is served - fresh scones, smoked bacon, locally sourced eggs, homemade jams, take your pick - an invitation to a gentle awakening. The spacious and peaceful garden offers a setting for strolling, discovering, fruit picking, or simply sitting and observing nature.
In the themed and curated rooms, the atmosphere unfolds even further: a comfortable bed, Netflix for a movie break, Wi-Fi, private parking - everything is designed to ensure a stay that is both cosy and refined.
But above all, the story of this place is one of encounters: between host and traveler, between Normandy and Ireland, between the tranquility of the countryside and the waves of the English Channel, here, you don't just stay in a bed and breakfast: you are invited into your cosy cottage that tells a story, that transports you, that welcomes you.
